TV out, refresh rates?

I am running a Celly 700 and a Powercolor radeon 7000. I was going to try to install the gatos (isnt that cats in spanish??) drivers but I decided not, since there was so much kernel rebuilding..
So I plugged the card in and hooked up the tv. And it comes on the screen, but either the refresh rate or screen size is wrong because it just rotates the screen, up and down. Asthough it was a bad tape in a VCR.
I tried messing with lilo.conf and changing the "vga=" setting to normal, 769, 791. And they didnt effect the outcome except in anything but normal I would get a little bar across the top with the penguin on it (Slack 9.2). Which I recognize from when I had a monitor hooked up to it. I also tried editing the /etc/X11/XF86Config(-vesa) files aswell. I for some reason dont have the -4 one that all of the tutorials do. I change all of the Verts and Horiz settings. Aswell as setting the resolutions to 320x240, 640x480, 800x600 in that order. No difference. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem with related (not) hardware. And your fix.

Thanks.

By the way, I am trying to set it up with Freevo. If that helps at all:
