I've been using Linux off an on for a while and before, if hardware wasn't autodetected, i didnt bother to use it. Now i'm trying to get my TV tuner card working and am running into some issues.
The card is a Sabrent based on the Phillips saa-713x chipset. I know this chipset is supported in the latest kernel, which I am running. I just dont know how to install it and get it working with TVtime.
I'm pretty sure the card isnt configured and when i run tvtime from the console, i get this:
Running tvtime 0.9.15.
rtctimer: Cannot set periodic interval: Permission denied
Failed to get 1024 Hz resolution from your RTC device. High
resolution access is necessary for video to be smooth. Please
run tvtime as root, set tvtime as SUID root, or change the
maximum RTC resolution allowed for user processes by running this
command as root:
sysctl -w dev.rtc.max-user-freq=1024
See our support page at (website for tvtime removed because of spam filter) for more information.

Any help would be appreciated,
