switching between RS232 ,RS422,RS485 from linux

Hello
I have a fanless mini PC from Quanmax company with model "QBOX-1010".
it has two serial port that cat act as RS-232 , RS-422 and RS-485. I want to switch between these physical interfaces from my linux that I installed on it. I can switch between them from it's BIOS (It has a menu for it). but I want to do this when I access it remotely and I can not access it's BIOS .I saw some devices that do it from their web, I don't know that they were Linux or not but they do it without restarting and going to it's BIOS.
my OS is ubuntu 10.04 with KERNEL and hardware:

I am unfamiliar with this mini-PC and unable to access any information from Quanmax's website. The devices I am most familiar with either are fixed or have programmable ports.

may be I asked wrong.
I want to effect those things that BIOS configuration does, but from Linux OS without rebooting and going to BIOS screen.
because I saw some software in win that do the same so I thought it has a way in Linux too.

/dev/nvram allows one to change CMOS settings. However, since AFAIK there is no standard memory map so I can not say what bit requires changing.

The last time I saw a programmable card like that it had a small 8080 processor on it. I'd guess the bios controls more than a simple circuit but it was a long time ago. I'd think if it could be controlled by a OS then the company would have at least some dos or other windows app to change it on the fly.

Email the company and they might know if it could be done.
