Sound works only when I am running as root.

I am running Slackware 9.1, with a Sound Blaster live!. I ran "alsaconf" and successfully configured my sound card. I then ran "alsactl store", and the logged on as root. My sound worked fine. I then logged in as "user", and I had no sound. I then logged in as root again, and I still had no sound. I rebooted, tried the whole ordeal again with the same results.
Thanks,

Just read your post again.

First, as user, run ->
$ alsamixer
and unmute all the channels with the M key of you keyboard,
turning the volume levels up appropriately.

Then, as root, run ->
# alsactl store
to save them so they'll be set after you logout or reboot.

Why don't you post how you got it working, so if someone else
searches and reads your thread they'll know what you did.

Well, I needed a larger partition on my harddrive, so I re-installed. I then did exactly what I did the first time, and it worked.
