no, no ethernet port.
the modem is connected to the wall jack and then to the USB.
The RH config assumes I'm connecting through a ethernet card,
but as said, I'm not.
any way I can configure it manually?
Thanks I'll try ..
But back to the scanner can't you get some adapter?
also how much effort is it to actually write a driver?
(or should I just shell out 200$ and get a new one)
Just seems a waste to throw out a perfectly good scanner..
P.S windows ME dosn't have with drivers either..
You have to get specific drivers for your modem.
I'm working with a Eicon ADSL USB modem and now I don't have any problems after installing the last drivers from www.prout.be/eicon
Look at the vendor's website if it has any drivers for your modem, because USB ADSL modems are not supported in Linux
My endless thanks for this advise.
I got my Eicon DIVA ADSL linux-incompatible modem "up and running in no time!" Perfectly compatible! Eicon guys can't even imagine!
(This is the first message sent to the world from Linux environment on my box.
