In the installer using a 2.4 kernel or a 2.6 kernel?
If it's 2.4, you need the module siimage.o - this is the low-level hardware driver for the SiI3112A, which presents it as an IDE device. You then need stuff like ide-detect.o and ide-disk.o to find your drive. If the installer has an expert mode, you can insert siimage.o at the correct point in the proceedings.
If it's 2.6 you need two modules: libata.o and sata_sil.o - these present the SiI3112A as a *SCSI* device, so you'll need stuff like sd-mod.o to find the drive.
