Resolution Problem

I'm currently in 1024 resolution and when I change it to the 1280 my monitor only captures the 1024 still. It's like the actual system is in 1280 but the monitor is still in 1024. For instance, the KDE bar (or taskbar, whatever its called) is so far down on the screen that I can't see it on the SCREEN, even though it's there. Please help.

Thank you,
Reid.

By the way.. its funny how much better linux is than its competition.

I'm running mandrake 10.0.

welcome to LQ.

i don't think this is a linux problem, if i understand what you're asking - you should be able to fix it by adjusting your display with the buttons on the monitor.
