I did as JTShaw told me, I opened the xf86config and answered some quesions andout the mouse, monitor etc and then when I come to execute the startx it does its stuff then this comes up on the screen.

Fatal server Error
Server is already active for display 0
if the server is no longer running
remove /tmp/.X0-lock
and start again

Xlib:Connection to ";0.0" refused by server
Xlib:invalid mit-magic-cookie-1 key
giving
Xinit:unable to connect to X server
Xinit: no such process ( errno3), server error

Can you help

Rutnut. You make a reference that you’ve done the other suggestions from JTShaw. I can’t find the reference immediate, and shouldn’t be redundant to give you the same suggestions you’ve already done. If you had replied to the thread in question, the system would have automatically sorted it to the top of the forum and notified everyone participating that there was an update. If you use this procedure you’ll make getting assistance much easier.
