newly installed netgear wg311 pci card does not show up in lspci

I've just put a Netgear WG311 in an expansion slot of a dell dimension 8200. After turning back on no new hardware was detected by Hardrake (I'm running Mandrake 01.1 community) also the card does not appear in the list porduced my #lsmod. is there something I have to do to get a new card recognised, or have I inserted the card wrong (looks right) ?

Perhaps you should do some tests with Knoppix or Slax, in order to see if it's not a Mandrake problem.
