Need to Install NETGEAR WG311 Wireless PCI Card

I am installing my first piece of hardware on my Suse 9.0 OS Linus system. I have never done it before and I have no idea where to start. I will be installing a wireless network card (I know I picked a doozie to start on) however I am doing this as a favor for my dad. Am I write in assuming that I should install it as normal and just let Linux detect it as Windows would? I do not have any Linux drivers (unless Suse 9.0 came with it) Any help would be great.

make sure you are using version 1 of the card, not v2 or anything else (check the box and lspci output according to the link)
