Question My Compaq Laptop mouse gets confused!

Hi chaps,

I have a Compaq Evo N150 Laptop (that gets bloody hot! another story).

I am, I think, just a few weeks/months away from conversion to Linux on my laptop BUT...

On entering X, I haven't noticed immediately but the mouse cursor gets somewhat confused during use and I have to really concentrate to use X.

My mouse pointer is actually pointing approximately 10mm to the right of where the GUI thinks...

So if I wanted to click this URL I would have to click the "oul" of the word would, next to it!!! To close a window, I have to click somewhere away from the x (close) icon

Anybody got any ideas?

Alll help appreciated & many thanks in advance!
