Hmm, it might be some piece of software that comes with mandrake, and be hard to track down. try fedora core 2, or SuSE - just pick a different distro, as it will have a slightly different mindset, and might work with your hardware. I had a Pentium II that didn't work with any of the bigname distros except slackware, or old versions, like redhat 7.3
