Is This US Robotics Modem a Good Modem to Buy?

Hello:

Those who check the Wireless Networking forum will recognize a question similar to this about a wireless networking card. Well, this time, I did some research first and want opinions on whether or not this card is a good card to get for Linux.

EDIT: Well, I was going to post a link to it, but I'm not allowed to yet. I'll just tell you, then, that it's the U.S. Robotics Model #2976.

I just want to know if this is a good modem to get for my new Linux box, so I don't have to struggle with a WinModem.

Thanks.

I went with the US Robotics V.92 external modems and have NEVER had any issues with it working with Linux. Connects through serial port.

Looks good to me. You want a hardware based modem and that's what it says it is. I have a U.S. Robotics modem, and I've been happy with it and their support.
