I have an intel modem 537ep i want it to work in Fedora core 3 which has kernel 2.6.11 I know i need a patch to get it to work in kernels newer than 2.6.10. I searched for it but i couldn't find. I want to know if someone knows where to get it or what i should do.
I can send it to you already patched (patch adapted from 536EP to 537EP. However there are some problems you should be aware. The computer I run this driver with, suffers from random lockups (well not so random, it all coincides when the modem is connected to the Internet). And you may experience a bit of system's slowness. Other than that, all is peachy. I already e-mailed Intel about their incompatibility with 2.6.10+ kernels, and they are working to have this issue solved. As soon as they've got something working reasonably well (i.e within their expectations), they'll post the driver in their site (www.inte.com/desgin/modems)
Thetargos please send me the driver patch to my email,
I'll try it out ant tell you how it works in my architechture. Although the minor bugs, something is better than nothing, right????
Tiyogi i never used the "on hold". i don't know the OEM, but in the box, it's written "Internal Fax Modem. Come with Intel chipset modem ..92 Fax Modem". I don't know where you live, but i live in argentina so i don't know if the modem i bought is in sale in your country.
