Install Conexant USB ADSL Modem


I have Justec JDL500U USB ADSL Modem.. I want to Install it in Ubuntu.. How Can I do it?? I'm a Beginner to Ubuntu.. Hope you will give me step to step guide. Thanks.

Version of Ubuntu I use - 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron)

Settings i Used in Windows -

Type : PPPoE
Encapsulation : LLC
Username : MY USERNAME
Password : MY PASSWORD
VPI : 8
VCI : 35
Authentication : PAP
Modulation : G.dmt

lsusb shows following...

Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0572:cb00 Conexant Systems (Rockwell), Inc. E-Tech ADSL Modem v2

I have never tried using a USB ADSL modem, but there is apparently a driver for it. Look here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/accessrunner

I would read the README file thoroughly.

Thanks, But how to Extract firmwire and Install Drivers?

Couple of things: posting your email address to a live public forum is a really good way to get added to a spam list. Also, emailing solutions takes the info of the boards which means that only the sender and recipient are helped, instead of the whole community. If it was just the firmware, could a link be posted as to where it can be obtained from please. Otherwise Starharvest becomes the repository and ends up getting emailed every time someone needs the firmware.

thanks 4 da tip.. i kno dat so i made new mail account for that.. so spams wil be no prob...
