HP deskjet 3550 for Mandrake and RedHat


Hi,

I'm running Mandrake and Redhat,
and I have an hp deskjet 3550,

where can I find the device drivers for this?

are there any generic drivers I could use in MD and RH?

Thanks for your reply.

However, I couln't seem to find the 'deskjet' drivers, only inkjet and someother drivers.

Woudld there be anywhere else I could find these drivers?

The hpijs-1.5.tar.gz package has the drivers for all Hewlet Packards printer. Certainly I see deskjet drivers when I'm setting up my printers in CUPS. I would recommend that you get foomatic-gswrapper http://www.linuxprinting.org/gswrapper.html and foomatic-rip http://www.linuxprinting.org/downloa...tic-rip&show=0 as well. Make the scripts executable and put them somewhere in your $PATH. /usr/bin does it for me. Good luck.

It wasnt that there wheren't any deskjet drivers, just that mine wherent there. and afterall, I'm all that matters

hey, btw, what is 'linux from scratch'? is that an actuall distribution?
