Unhappy HDD not detected

Hi,

I reinstalled my RH ES. I put in an IOGEAR 2-Port RAID eSATA 3.0Gbps Dual Profile PCI Express Card with 2 external SATA ports.

Started up the system.

I plugged my external HDD in; turned on; not recognized as sdc as before.

Then I plugged my external HDD into my win computer via USB; ext2fsd sees it; used/unused parts are indicated as expected. But I can not mount (assign a drive letter).

What to do?
How could I extract my data from that disk?

I guess that my system wanted to use it as an array disk and wrote some (bad) information on the disk and therefore it is corrupted... I hope this is not the case and something will help.

Thanks for your suggestions in advance,
tamas

I moved the hdd from the external enclosure into the box as an internal drive. Works w/o problem. Other hdds in works also well in the external enclosure...
