Question Freeze of freeze on first boot compaq v6305nr distro: fedora core 7


I recently installed fedora core 7 on this machine. the first time i boot the computer the computer freezes on boot after going through the setup. I end up at a black screen and have to hold down the power button to restart. I tried control-alt-backspace to restart x-server. it is important that during the first boot the nvidia logo does not pop up but after the restart the nvidia logo pops up and the computer boots fine. I have installed the k-mod nvidia driver from livna.
