Fedora Core 2 test2 and ATI 3.7.6 drivers

From ATI's website:
-------------------------
Version 2.4 of the Linux kernel is required for this driver. This kernel version is installed as standard in many current Linux distributions. Support for the newer version 2.6 kernel is under development and should be available in a future release.
-------------------------

I've searched everywhere for help on getting my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro to work on FC2 test2.

Following several pieces of advice, this is as far as I've gotten:

Code:
[root@localhost fglrx]# sh make_install.sh
- creating symlink
- recreating module dependency list
- trying a sample load of the kernel module
FATAL: Error inserting fglrx (/lib/modules/2.6.3-2.1.253.2.1/kernel/drivers/char/drm/fglrx.ko): Bad address
failed.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Using:
Fedora Core 2 test2
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
1.7 Pentium IV
Dell 8100
640 RAM
