I am having an issue with my FC11 sound. I have read and tried may different threads. I need some serious help.
I get sound, it is just very quiet and sometimes scratchy and skippy.
I have ensured that the GUI volume is up and that the alsamixer volume is up. Strange though that alsamixer shows a generic 'unkown" soundcard.
When I run alsactl init I get
Unknown hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Conexant CX20551 (Waikiki)" "HDA:14f15047,103c30a5,00100000" "0x103c" "0x30a5"
Hardware is initialized using a guess method
It is a HP laptop dv8000 (specifically dv8048us).
any help would be great...have used many versions of linux, but still consider myself somewhat of a newbie when it comes to delving deep into hardware "innerworkings".
