dvd-cdrw on a laptop : is it a scsi or ide?


hey all. i have this laptop, and since i dont know much bout drives, can someone tell me what kind it would be? scsi/ide? and is there a way i can find out (the bios selection is auto, it hink, so ...)?

its a dvd-cdrw combo drive.

dmesg | grep -i dvd
if it's hdsomething it's ide, otherwise scsi.

I am not sure, but I think you need to think on this. You can't use it as a burner unless you make it a ide-scsi.
