Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Debian + Plantronics Audio 90 + Which sound card?

Hi all. This IS a hardware related question. I'm running Debian Sarge with some Plantronics Audio 90's, but with onboard sound. I want to upgrade to an actual PCI sounds card, but which one should I get? Should I get an Audigy 2? Also, which sound card works with the mic on the headphones? The mic input doesn't work with my onboard audio. Thanks.

If anyone reads this I decided to go with a Creative Labs Audigy (Audigy 1) card that I managed to get off eBay for $35CDN.

With the 2.6 kernel, (because it has ALSA support by default) the Audigy and my Plantronics Audio .90 sound quality is phenominal.
