Damn mouse is freezing now, WTF?

I've searched high and low and can't seem to find a solution to a recent problem i have. My USB Microsuck 7 button mouse randomly freezes in Slack 10. This just started happening today! WTF!
I know others have had similar problems with USB mice, any ideas?

have you tried setting in your xorg.conf the device to /dev/input/mice and the protocol to ExplorerPS/2

Ive had MS and Kensington usb mice running under slack 9 and 10 with no such freezing. Theres many things that could be the culprit. As ringwraith suggested, Fix up your xorg.conf and make sure the settings are correct for the mouse your using. If thats not it you might try another mouse to try and isolate the problem, if it persists smash your fist onto the mouse and go buy another one. Ive done that with a couple printers and it sure does feel good. Part of my xorg.conf as an example.
