Canon ip5000 with Turboprint driver and Mandriva 2007

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Spent more than a couple wasted hours on this. I have paid for Turboprint driver with key file installed. I have used it to set up this printer in the past on earlier versions of Mandriva. I cannot get it set up for the life of me now. My printer is on /dev/usb/lp1 according to the Harddrake, and is set that way in turboprint setup. It is published in Cups web interface, but always says it is disconnected and can't even print test page. Been through the troubleshooting guide on Turboprints website, can't find a forum or any sort of support for their product on their website though. Anyone able to walk me through this?

Uninstalled, reinstalled and tried to set up in demo mode without using the key, still no go.

try the following link:
www (dot) linuxprinting (dot) org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Canon-PIXMA_iP5000

I had succesfully made it work, *without turboprint license*

All you have to do is install cups & gutenprint v5.0.1 (which is the most recent version at the moment)

Good luck!
