Bad graphics: ATI raedon graphics card and slackware


Hi,
I ve recently installed Slackware 12.0 linux on my [HP dc7800p] PC ..When i switch to the Desktop environment i.e. KDE .The graphics ar etotally ruined...the colours are inverted and the fonts are also not visible properly.I m using ATI raedon graphics card ..plz suggest me what to do??

If you still run Slackware's default X.Org configuration you are still using the VESA driver.
Try downloading and installing Ati's proprietary display driver for your Radeon card, or try the ati driver that is available as part of the X.Org packages.
But I would advise to move to Slackware 12.1 instead - the ati drivers for X.Org have matured quite a bit between Slackware 12.0 and 12.1.
