This would be my first post. I'm new to these forums, and I still don't know all the Linux tricks. However I'm good a troubleshooting and with software issues.

I enjoy solving problems for friends, and now I've got an ATI Radeon 9600 TV-Out only, running on a Xandros 3 machine.

With Xandros ATI drivers installed, the video output didn't work. When the guy updated to non-Xandros Debian based ATI drivers, the he got a signal on his TV, but the color was black and white. Except when after KDE had been unloaded, during the Kill Term process. He says that when it finished the TV signal was in full color.

I believe this is a settings issue, but it may well be a drivers issue. I use nVidia cards, so I'm not all too familiar with the ATI driver's panels.

How would I go about making sure the card is sending a color output. What would be missing from the package, and dependencies if the driver is the issue. What packages would it need?

Once I get the package list, I can see if they're compatible with the Xandros 3 optimized versions, or if they need to be recompiled for the Xandros 3 kernel.

if I remember right it is something wrong with youŕe tv settings!... (ofcourse it is)
there are many different tv:s..
secam, PAL, ntsc....and alot of different versions of these! of you have PAL and secam is selected the picture becomes grayscaled, and if ntsc is chosed green bars will apear all over the screen.....(for exampel) I dont know what happend if you have ntsc and PAL is chosen... but keep on trying.. I hope I could help you!
