ATI binary drivers and Kernel 2.6: BLANK SCREEN FIX

I was having a lot of trouble getting my Radeon 9700 Pro working with ATI 3.7 drivers and Kernel 2.6.2. When I typed startx, I was greeted with a blank, black screen. If anyone else has been having this problem, HERE IS THE FIX!

MODS: You may want to sticky this...

I have spent several days trying to get this to work, and it is FINALLY working. Basically, there is a patch you have to apply to the ati driver, and a few lines to change in a file. The link I posted has the patch, and a detailed HOWTO to get the drivers working in kernel 2.6.
