ASUS DRW-0804P with Suse 9.0 Pro

Hi every linux user,

I'm new on this field, so try to understand me. I just installed Suse 9.0 Pro and I'm using it as a file server with samba (it's OK). The server has a raid5 with three scsi hdd and I have installed an Asus DVD-RW (DRW-0804P) for backup. Question: Can anyone to help me to mount it and make it to run as a backup device? What software to use as a backup tool?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm coming from Windows (95,98,NT,2000,XP,2003), Linux is new
