Alsa Problems: KDE System sounds work, everything else choppy!

Alright so I have been trying and trying to get this sound thing figured out. My problem is that in NoAtun or anything but XMMS I can play MP3s, but the sound is very choppy and distorted. In XMMS the file looks like it is playing but no sound is coming out. I have configured the ouput to go through the Alsa plugin, so I do not know what is going on? The worst part is that I can hear KDE system sounds just fine. Anyone have any incite into this problem. I will keep researching until then.

*Alsa driver, utils, and lib versions of 1.0.7 in use.
