splash screen problems cant login KDE !


I just changed my default kdm login screen with some other one and now when i restarted kde its all messed up i think it was GDM but i use KDM and i cant put my username and password inside is there a way for me to change to the default kdm login from the command line?

Press CONTROL+ALT+F1

Enter username and password
type startx -- :1 &

this should bring you to KDE, now use the GUI to make the changes (you didn't mention your distro!)

i did exactly as u said but it gave me an error fatal error server is already active for display 0 xlib connection to 0.0 refused by server.
unable to connect to server

I don't think you did the command right. I tried it against my computer with and without amperstand , in and out of an Xorg session.

The command is startx -- :1

please, check again, otherwise, try to do it in X, and post the entire console session, input and output.
