Problems with kde splash screen.

HI all, I'm using FC4 and since I upgraded kde I can't change the kde splash screen. I open kcontrol. go to splash screen select the splash screen I want, then I press 'apply' but when I login to kde again I see the same old splash screen. The weird thing is that I checked ~/.kde/share/config/ksplashrc in my home directory and the theme is the one I selected. Does anyone know how to solve this problem??

Thanks in advance.

try to see if the image has changed accessing /usr/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/<folder_with_the_name_of_your_theme>

Check if you have Moodin plugin. New splashes for full screen require this one

The image in /usr/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/KDE_SPLASH_AA is the same I selected. As for the moodin plugin, I think I don't have it, but it's not a full screen splash, besides when I test it from kcontrol it works fine.

Solved. For some strange reason, ksplash kept showing the default splash screen, so what I did was to change the name of the splash I wanted to 'Default' and changed the default one to 'Default1'. Now it shows the splash I selected. This is really weird, I had to cheat ksplash, but now it's solved.

Good.

This was why I said to you check the folder of the theme, because your theme manager was seting the theme to the default.
