RedHat 9 Kernel Compile Question

RedHat 9 Kernel Compile Question
In the process of recompiling my kernel for RedHat 9.0. I have the latest kernel source. Have done this before so I am not a total newbie. Had some errors with my last effort > (modprobe cant' find block-major-11) > something to that effect when I try to boot to that recompiled kernel.

Question: there is a ton of info in the kernel config file. Can I just delete all the entries with # in front of it? I'd like to make the config file as small as possible to make it easier to compare to other Linux installs I have.

Thank's.

You can use "diff file1 file2" to compare two files.
