Problem booting new Xandros install with Slack & XP

I just got a Xandros disc with a magazine and I'm trying to add it to my dual-boot system but it's not working. Here's what I'm dealing with:
I've got /dev/hda with XP; /dev/hdb1 with Slack
I'm attempting to install Xandros on /dev/hdb3
The installation goes fine without errors. I tell it to install a bootloader to /dev/hda and I also create a boot floppy.
When I restart the computer I get my same old LILO. So, I boot Slack and add this:
image = /boot/vmlinuz
root = /dev/hdb3
lable = xandros
read-only
I run lilo and restart. When I choose Xandros it loads the kernel and goes to a blank screen - that's it!! No more happens.
I boot with the floppy assuming it's a sure thing but after getting the fancy Xandros boot screen I get a 0x40 kernel error, or something like that. Either way Xandros won't load.
Am I doing something wrong? I've had FC2 on this for a little while to try it without any problems but this is just an endless problem.

Any ideas???? From the installer I'd say Xandros is a decent system. I want to check it out.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,
This might help you: http://www.archlug.org/kwiki/XandrosAndLILO
(Yay Google!)

Do have a seperate /boot partition that have both the Xandros and Slack kernels on it? The Slack kernel is vanilla, but I think the Xandros kernel probably has a bunch of mods, and requires it. I suggest copying the kernel from /dev/hdb3/boot/vml* to your slack /boot kernel, or, just create a new /boot partition and put both kernels on there.

HTH,

Thanks for the help. It wasn't the exact solution but it sent me in the right direction. I decided to copy over the lilo.conf from the xandros partition onto my slack partition, edit it and install it. I get some errors loading some modules during the xandros bootup but it makes it to the desktop and seems to work. Still can't touch Slack and either Dropline or Fluxbox but I'm glad I'll get to check it out.
