Point of Sale Video Drivers

So this may be a little further out there, but I am working on trying to get Cent 6.3 on an IBM SurePOS (4840-544), when I go through the install (using yumi on a thumbdrive) I can get (graphically) all the way to the actual install, and everything goes black, based on the blinking light on the thumbdrive it's doing something, but never even shows text once it goes into that. It does work fine if I load CentOS 5.8... So is there a way to tell what video driver 5.8 uses versus 6.3 and use that? Are there any "generic" drivers that I am not aware of? Seems to me if it can load yumi (graphically) the rest *SHOULD* work...
TIA

A behavior like that is in most caused by graphics drivers that try to determine the correct resolution and to switch to it. Try to add the nomodeset option to your kernel command-line.
