Kitchen video/ Point Of Sale for linux??
I've been considering setting up a restaurant in the somewhat distant future, and was wondering if there were any linux based sytems to drive the computer part of the kitchen (i.e.: taking orders from the register, and displaying items on the appropriate screens, for instance drinks on a screen in the bar, and food in the kitchen) and keep track of employee attendance either in release or in development, i've seen one working on MSdos, but i'd prefer linux if possible, thx
I am not sure of what programs are used or how they are setup, but I do know that Lowes Home Improvement and some other major outlet stores even that have switched to Linux as their POS and main backend for the stores computers.
I am sure though they have a team of programmers to customize their own Linux to suit their needs.
