Well sorry about this stupid thread but i have 2 (stupid as well) questions
1.In order to open my mp3 files with xmms i have to do all the time: right click-->open with-->xmms
otherwise it will open the file with Noatun..i want by clicking the file to start the xmms and not the Noatun..
2.How do i take screenshots..i tried with the Printscreen button but then what?
Thanx ...
Umm. I think in most linux distos there is a tool for file associations, check around.
With me, there is an option to choose the program which is used by default. I cannot give you exact instructions though bceause I do not know if all distos are the same, and I do not know what disto you are using.
For the screenshots, it all depends on what disto. Some have a screenshot icon built into the main menu, others do not.
I would suggest getting gkrellm which has a plugin (or maybe a builtin) which allows you to take a screenshot.
How do i take screenshots..i tried with the Printscreen button but then what?

After pressing PrintScreen, open any graphical editor (eg. GIMP), and use paste command from its menubar?
If u want to take screen shot of particular window, highlight that window, the press Alt+PrintScreen, and repeat the same thing? In this way unwanted things won't appear in Screen Shot.
well thanx jitus for your help..it worked..
Pauli tried to install the softaware but i gen an error message like this:
linux:/usr/local/src/gkrellm-2.1.28 # make
(cd po && make all)
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/gkrellm-2.1.28/po'
msgfmt -f -v -o cs.mo cs.po
make[1]: msgfmt: Command not found
make[1]: *** [cs.mo] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/gkrellm-2.1.28/po'
make: *** [all] Error 2
linux:/usr/local/src/gkrellm-2.1.28 #
It looks quite good sofwate and i d like to have it in my sustem..
Thanx again..
There are many disto specific installers that I am sure will work for you Check on his page, and either change your user cp to say what disto or just tell me
Pauli..I found out was the problem with the installation..the libraries gtk 2.0 gdk 2.0 and gllib 2.0 werent installed on my system..thanx anyway..GKreLLM is awesome program.
