I have a problem and here is the situation.
I recently decided to migrate over from windows xp... I have 2 hard disks, C and D.... C has 20 gb of space and D has about 2.5 gb of space. D is primarily used to store my mp3 files. I installed and formatted C and installed RH linux 8 on it. In order not to lose any data on D, i left D intact during the installation process. Right now, i've got my RH linux 8 running on my com.
So now, i mounted the files from my D to a folder in my directory... but when i tried to use XMMS to play the files, all that came out on display was a jumbled up mix of characters i can't even read, and the tracks started advancing real quick and no sound came out. I suspect that the player has a problem reading the files i mounted.... do you guys have any suggestions? please help.... i'd really appreciate it...
hi wolf. the problem is with XMMS, it does not have support to play mp3 in RH8. search for XMMS related posts and u willl find one which has a link to a patch.
This is a weird problem - i installed xmms 1.2.8 but when i try to run the program, xmms 1.2.7 runs instead of the newer version i downloaded... do you know how to solve that problem?
