Hey Everyone,

I tried to mount my ntfs partition on hda6 where my windows E: drive is I downloaded the ntfs rpm from sourceforge and Installed it. It worked parfectly for a couple days and now it's saying that ntfs it not suppported by my kernel.

Another wierd thing:

[root@localhost root]# rpm -ihv kernel-ntfs-smp-2.4.20-20.9.athlon.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
package kernel-ntfs-smp-2.4.20-20.9 is already installed
[root@localhost root]# rpm -e kernel-ntfs-smp-2.4.20-20.9.athlon.rpm
error: package kernel-ntfs-smp-2.4.20-20.9.athlon.rpm is not installed

when I try to install the package it says it's already installed, then when I try to erase it it says that it's not installed. I deleted my entry for ntfs in my fstab. Please Help.

force install the rpm.

rpm -ivh packagename --force

its probably not installed correctly. should work after this

man rpm for more info
