internet access?????

hello once again i have a problem with my linux box.......

I am trying to use ppp to access the internet but my ppp0 adapter will not go ifup ppp0 it returns an error saying error number 6....My modem has been probed in modemconf. I have no idea why the hell this would be doing this thanks for anyones help...I have also stuffed around in the mandrake 8 modules within linuxconf with some of the dial stuff

Hi
Enable debug option in /etc/ppp/options file and capture the ppp logs and post. we can check what may be the problem

try getting online using wvdial / wvdialconf to see if the modem is working ok
