yellow dog linux 4.0.1 has been released and it comes with a lot of support for the mac mini... looks like it doesn't support the audio and/or the modem yet...

this "debian on the mac mini" page is nice - seems like the audio driver thing might be fixed soon (and hopefully the modem):

i also ran into this very interesting linux mac mini blog while googling, check-it-out:
Quote:
I've decided to purchase a Mac Mini for use as my day to day computing environment. I'll be using Mac OS X for somethings, but my plans are to use Linux as my primary OS. I'll be recording my experience as it unfolds, starting with placing the order with Apple.

here's a mac mini thread i found at the gentoo forums:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.p...b5bd48667da919

i've heard the gentoo live cd is running well on the mini...

live cd's are a great way to make sure your mini runs linux as well as you want it to - before you actually do a linux install...

you can compile most gentoo packages for ppc (the architecture the mac uses).

the "debian on the mac mini" page which i linked above has been slashdotted...

i am sure the discussion will be extremely valuable for anyone interested on running gnu/linux on the mac mini, so here's the link:
