Display IP Without Login

I need to tap into the masterminds of this forum to find a good way to display the IP address without logging in.
It can be text mode or GUI mode. Though it would be cool if we could display the ip address at the GUI login screen. We are currently using Fedora 5.

I need to be able to send someone a small pc that they can plug into their network and see the ip address so that they can go to their pc and access the box using the ip address.

Thanks

/etc/issue contains the text that displays before the login prompt on the CLI.
