Unhappy Can "sort of" access the internet using Firefox & Suse 10.0

So I've finally got my wireless working which has been somewhat of a challenge. When I launch Firefox, it automatically loads Novell's website as a homepage. I can surf around Novell's site no problem. I can also go to linux.org if I play with the security settings. However, I can't connect to any other sites (hotmail, google, etc.) Here are some details:
  • Suse 10.0
  • Firefox web browser
  • IP Forwarding is turned on.
  • Connection times out when trying to access sites other than Novells
  • To get Novell's site to fully load, I had to change the security preferences in Firefox (ssl 2.0, ssl 3.0, tsl 1.0)
  • I have added the primary and secondary IP addresses to resolv.conf file

I'm stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
EJR

In /etc/resolv.conf you should put the IP address(es) of the dns of your ISP. I guess that since you can go to novell's site, that entry is in your /etc/hosts file and you don't have a valid dns to lookup other sites.
