Hi. I am trying to install a windowmanger called phluid* and I read README and INSTALL and found nothing about needing imlib2. Anyways I ran ./configure and after reviewing the script ot output it creates I notice that when it checks for imlib2.h it says 'no' after it meaning it didn't find it. I ran a check with 'find' to see if I have it on my slack8.1 and realize I don't to the best of my knowledge. So I downloaded imlib2 and untarred it and did ./configure and make of imlib2 and get this at the end of make output .....
/usr/i386-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lImlib2
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [jpeg.la] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/brian/src/imlib2-1.0.6/loaders'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/brian/src/imlib2-1.0.6'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
I guess my main question is first what does the above mean? and second .....
When building from source is there a way to know or find out what dependecies you will need? Just run configure and check for 'no's' ?
So I guess the window manager I am attempting to install needs imlib2 and
is not finding it ... then when I attempt to install imlib2 It's not finding some dependencies it needs .... which brings me to a third question ... Do libraries ever depend on other libraries or in general do Libraries depend on anything else usually?
thanks alot
