Checking for Dependencies

Howdy Folks,
I am trying to get a fe Apps up and running on my server, which is as follows -

Dual PIII
and
Red Hat 8.0

I was wondering how to check for the library dependencies, (which I understand are akin to the DLLs in Win), and know which ones are the right ones for my system when I find them online. Will I be able to load RH 9 Libs? Thanks!

any dependencies will need to be satisfied in order to install the software in the first place. try to install it by RPM or from source. if something is missing it will tell you and stop the installation. if it installs, then it should work fine.

Well,
All I had to to was un tar-ball it and it expanded. I didn't have to get it in RPM form. So how would I check then? Thanks for the reply!
