apt-get
A friend of mine suggested installing ' apt-get ' package to my Mandrake Linux 10.0 version.
I think it is for Debian.
Would you recommend it? What is the advantage of it?

Apt-get is the Debian package manager, and the greatest thing to happen to Linux EVER IMO. There is a version, called apt-for-rpm that works in Mandrake, SuSe, RedHat. I used it once on RedHat and it was very cool.
If you want to use a good package management tool, made explicitly for Mandrake, and that works like apt , then use urpmi. This is already included in your mandrake Linux installation. To find out more about urpmi, go to zebulon.org.uk and for instructions on how to set it up go to easyurpmi.
