Alsa not working correctly with SB Live under Slack Current

I Downloaded the latest version of slackware via ftp, and then installed from a hard drive partition. Now after I configured Alsa, on bootup I start getting little clicks out of my speakers, and no other sound will play.

you gotta give access permissions to your user
change the permissions on
/dev/mixer
/dev/dsp or /dev/dsp0, /dev/dsp1 .....etc

I tried that but still no sound. (maybe I have to reboot).
I typed: chmod a+rw /dev/dsp /dev/mixer /dev/midi.
Still no luck.

Here is my error:
Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device: default can't be opened for playback (Permission denied)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

I got it fixed!
I just opened up the Super user file manager, and browsed to /dev. I then right clicked on dsp0, mixer0, and midi0. Now I gave them all full permissions, and my sound works fine.
Thanks, Noah
