Advent 7086 Laptop Windows Re-Install Query

Hi There. I have an Advent 7086 laptop and am wondering whether, after I have installed Ubuntu, if anything goes wrong I can re-install Windows XP Home Edition. I have the reset disk. Am I right if, after Ubuntu is installed, I restart the computer, insert the disk straight away and it will show a list of recovery options? There is a partition on the hard disk for recovery but I don't think that is necessary for reset. Thanks for any info.
