I've recently installed Quake 3 Arena on Fedora, and it works great. But, there are some sound errors. For example, during gameplay, the announcer's speech will be abruptly cut-off by the sound of an opponent getting fragged or a door opening. Generally, it seems to be that the audio is lagging. I'll fire a shot and it'll take a few seconds to actually hear it. Has anyone that has experienced this and has some insight on the issue mind helping?

Important note: This only takes place while I'm in running Quake; All other apps run fine.

The sound system in RH distro's has been up the shoot for ages. Close down gaim, xmms, rythmbox, anything that will actually make a sound, and quake 3 sound should be fine.
