having trouble installing kigb

i'm trying to install kigb (a gameboy emulator) so that i can run little sound dj on my ubuntu box...
i'm not having much luck with this - i'm new to linux (and ubuntu)
i've got the tar.gz unpacked, but i'm not sure where to go from here. there is no config file or anything so i can't compile it. the package contains an executable named kigb but i can't open it. any help would be great.
also if anybody knows of any midi/audio apps along the lines of logic/cubase/etc i'd be glad to hear of them.

You may need to change the permission/s on the executable file to get it to run.
