Can GLX / Compiz cause, my OpenGL game apps work only in windowed mode?

I have Ubuntu 6.06 Drapper distro, with XGL ,and compiz installed.
After I installed Quake 3 Arena and Enemy Territory OpenGL based games, I experienced, this games work only windowed mode.
I tried to set in the Otions menu of this games into Fullscreen modes, but nothing happened. The games unvariably shown in windowed mode.

Could anyone help?

Yes absolutely!
Here's the solution (Paste it to your browser):
wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xgl#XGL_and_.28OpenGL.29_Games_in_Fullscreen_Mode

I hope this helps.

Thanks Wolfdale!

This is is exactly, that I've been looking for!
I've checked the link, you submitted, but I haven't tried the solution, described on that page, yet. That will be my first task as soon as I arrive home!
